That’s exactly where CFK Next Steps comes in.

Our goal is simple: a champion for every kid. We believe every kid experiencing foster care deserves to be seen, known, loved, and surrounded by people who are willing to show up for them.

💙 This is just one of the many stories we've heard from the 26 kids who to attended summer day camps this year, through scholarships generously provided by !

"Thank you so much for helping to make theater camp possible this summer! Over the two weeks, she really came out of her shell and gained so much confidence. She loved every minute of camp and was so excited that she practiced every night when she came home. At the end of camp, the kids performed a play, and it was absolutely amazing to see how much she had grown. It meant the world to her to have so many people come to watch her perform. Seeing all those smiling faces cheering her on made her feel so loved and supported. The joy on her face and the confidence she showed on stage are memories we’ll never forget. It’s so important for kids to start school feeling confident and ready to learn.

With the help of amazing partners and grants, CFK is able to keep a limited number of items on hand for common requests.

A few common requests during back-to-school are getting kids outfitted and supplied with staples they will need as they venture back to their classrooms.

We are blown away by the enthusiasm and generosity of Elevation Riverwalk and grateful to be part of their Love Week serve events!

Volunteers assembled gifts for child welfare professionals and decorated posters for our Socialight Drive-Thru event. We also received school supplies for The Landing and a generous donation to further our work in serving vulnerable kids!

We’re changing the way you take your next step with CFK!

Starting this fall, Next Steps will replace our individual Foster and Mentor info sessions as the required first step for anyone interested in becoming a foster parent or mentor.

But Next Steps goes beyond our foster and mentor pathways!

We know many people have a desire to get involved but aren’t quite sure where they fit. This new event gives you the opportunity to learn about all the ways you can show up for kids experiencing foster care - from becoming a foster parent or mentor, to volunteering, supporting families through our Landing Platform, and more.

You’ll meet the CFK team, learn more about the needs in our foster care community, explore the different ways to get involved, and have the opportunity to ask questions.

Everyone can do something. Come discover your something.

This year's Socialight Drive-Thru was all smiles! 💙

With homemade posters, pom-poms, cheers, a DJ, treats, and giveaways, our volunteers and CFK team created a celebration worthy of the people who spend their days advocating for kids experiencing foster care.

Big thanks to at SouthPark mall for providing CFK the opportunity to share what we do and collect gifts for Christmas in July.

They presented CFK with a generous gift card grant for our teen shopping program and employees got involved to fill up the donation bins.
