We are shining a spotlight on three of our talented ceramic artists who are based in Seagrove and will be featured at this year’s Potters Market at the Mint:

⭐️ Ben Owen III
A multi-generation potter, Ben Owen Pottery blends family tradition with modern artistry. Drawing inspiration from Asian, English, and early American pottery, he creates works that honor his grandfather’s legacy while exploring bold forms, colors and finishes. His pieces range from functional vessels to striking large-scale designs, all rooted in a philosophy of simplicity and innovation.

⭐️ Kate Waltman
Kate Waltman The Triangle Studio uses local clays and wood-fired kilns to create objects of beauty and desire. Through intricate carving and pattern work, her pieces capture the balance between wild nature and refined domesticity. Her process—from raw earth to finished form—celebrates tradition while producing artful, functional and decorative pottery.

⭐️ David Stuempfle
work bridges traditional and contemporary studio pottery. Inspired by history, nature, and global influences, he crafts both functional and sculptural pieces. Known for his focus on form, Stuempfle works in series, continually refining shapes and ideas while exploring the depth and diversity of ceramics through innovative techniques and thoughtful design.

We are shining a spotlight on three more of our incredible ceramic artists who will be featured at this year’s Potters Market at the Mint:

⭐️ Pam Brewer | Newland
sculptures emerge through a deeply organic process, using techniques like coiling, pinching and terra sigillata. Her animal and natural forms reflect her passion for connection and healing, giving voice to the primal beauty of our shared existence.

⭐️ Renee Calder | Huntersville
Blending clay, metal, wood, fabric, and found objects, creates unexpected combinations that challenge perceptions. Her playful, imaginative pieces invite viewers to see the ordinary in extraordinary ways—and always leave them smiling.

⭐️ Mandy Huffman | Rutherfordton
A six-week pottery class sparked Mandy’s creative journey, which she now shares with her husband as they bring humor and heart to their sculptures. They bring to life visions of their surroundings with a little sense of humor thrown in.
