Alliance Française is partnering with Villa Albertine to welcome the representative of the French Education Ministry from AEFE to Charlotte to discuss again / still about a French school here in our Queen city.
Come on Monday March 23 at 6:30pm at OMB South End to know more and ask your questions.

Une école internationale française suit le programme du Ministère de l’Éducation nationale, avec au moins 50 % des cours en français, permettant aux enfants de devenir bilingues, ouverts sur le monde et de poursuivre leur scolarité partout à l’international.

Des représentants du Service de Coopération et d’Action Culturelle de l’Ambassade de France aux États-Unis et de l’AEFE seront présents à Charlotte pour rencontrer la communauté et échanger sur ce projet.

Nous recherchons également des sponsors souhaitant contribuer en fournissant quelques hors-d’œuvre et rafraîchissements pour la rencontre.

Alliance Française de Charlotte had the privilege to partner with the Academie Culinaire de France USA-Canada on February 20-22 for their 11th congress at the Ballantyne hotel. What an honored to have share with more than 200 chefs and their suppliers the French “savoir faire” gastronomy. What a more relevant event that the excellence, commitment and professionalism of all the academy chefs to promote French culture and education. Our Queen city was fortunate to host the amazing event for the anniversary of the birthday of Chef Bocuse. I was honored to be part of it. The Gala lunch on Sunday was prepared by 5 women for the first time, very exceptional talented cheffes.
Alliance française partnered with the Academie Culinaire de France whose mission is “defending, perfecting and transmitting French culinary art to the world”. Well done!

"The Artist" is coming to the International Picture House!
The Artist is a 2011 French comedy-drama film in the style of a black-and-white silent film or part-talkie. It was written and directed by Michel Hazanavicius, produced by Thomas Langmann and stars Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo.
The story takes place in Hollywood, between 1927 and 1932, and focuses on the relationship between a rising young actress and an older silent film star as silent cinema falls out of fashion and is replaced by the "talkies".
The Artist received widespread critical acclaim and won many accolades. The film won three Golden Globes, seven BAFTAs, five Academy Awards . In France it won César Awards. The Artist has received more awards than any other French film.
Great opportunity to watch an extraordinary movie at our partner theater IPH this coming week end Saturday June 28 at 3PM or June 29 at 2:30PM.
