What does do.OS look like when it comes to life in a community?

One answer is a Digital Opportunity Zone.

A Digital Opportunity Zone is a community where trusted support, coordinated systems, and digital access work together around real human needs.

That distinction matters.

Instead of asking someone to navigate a collection of disconnected resources, the ecosystem itself becomes more connected.

Building that takes more than technology.

It takes shared infrastructure, cross-sector collaboration, and coordinated investment.

Technology keeps changing, and the skills people need are changing with it.

As part of do.OS, CDE is helping community members build practical skills around AI, online safety, and the digital tools they encounter at work and in everyday life. We’re also working with partners to better connect those skills to education, employment, and economic opportunity.

The focus is simple: helping people feel prepared and confident as technology continues to evolve.
