Justice isn’t a destination, it’s a practice. At the University of Mount Saint Vincent, we aren’t just practicing; we’re pioneering.⚖️✨
When D2C and the University of Mount Saint Vincent joined forces to launch the D2C Justice Institute, we knew we needed more than just a mission statement. We needed strategy that reflects complexity of the world that we live in.
Our mission is clear! To cultivate systems and leaders by advancing justice through education, strategy, and action. But how do we actually do that?🤨 We do it by leaning into our 5 Justice Pillars… the foundation of everything we build here in the Bronx 🏙️ and beyond. 💫
📍 Social Justice: Focuses one equity, dignity, and access
📍Economic Justice: Emphasizes mobility, workforce, and opportunity
📍 Criminal Justice: Addresses accountability, reform, and trust
📍 Restorative Justice: Centers healing, repair, and reconciliation
📍Procedural Justice: Strengthens institutional trust, fairness, and legitimacy
We aren’t just teaching these concepts in a classroom; we are applying them to the streets, the precinct, and the boardroom.
We want to know what areas you are most passionate about!💬
Which of our 5 Pillars do you think is most urgent for our community to address right now? Tell us why in the comments. Let’s start the dialogue below! 👇
Together, we aren’t just hoping for change, we are educating the leaders who will create it. 🙌
