It’s receiving messages like this that fill & fuel the PP ⛽️ tank! 👇🏾👇🏿👇🏼👇

“ I hope this message finds you well. I have just returned from my recent trip to Kenya 🇰🇪 where we are using sports to empower the local community. On behalf of our organization and the five Maasai teams who took to the field this summer, I want to express our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of soccer jerseys.

Your gift did far more than dress players — it gave five teams a sense of identity, pride, and belonging. Watching the young athletes from the Maasai community step onto the field in those jerseys, heads held high, was a moment none of us will soon forget. Your generosity directly fueled their passion for the game and brought communities together in the most beautiful way.

The summer tournaments were a tremendous success, and your contribution was at the heart of it all.

As we look ahead, we are already preparing for our December tournaments — an even bigger event that promises to bring together more teams and more young players from across the Maasai region. We would be incredibly grateful if you could consider donating additional jerseys to help us outfit the growing number of participants. Every jersey means one more player who gets to compete with dignity and confidence. We hope to raise jerseys for at least 10 teams.

If you are able to support us again, or if you know others who might like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We would love to keep you updated on the impact your continued generosity creates.

From the bottom of our hearts — asante sana. Thank you.”

One of my favorite stories recently was hearing an update on the “Hurricanes” team in Kigali, Rwanda. 🌍

These purple jerseys were originally donated through Peace Passers in January 2014, fun fact & total coincidence that they shipped on MLK Day exactly 14 years ago! Now 2026 and the kits are STILL being worn, yes you read that correctly - 14 years later!

Jake Bramer who travels from Tennessee to Rwanda every few years to support the local orphanage explained that when he first shared the jerseys he told them the kits were from Gainesville High School boys team, and they were called the “Hurricanes” 🌀
“I had to tell them what a hurricane was. I told them it was a mighty storm, which made them smile,” he said. “Then I told them purple was the color of royalty, and they were amazed by that.” 👑 💜

That was just the beginning, I learned from Jake on his visit this past summer that over the years the ‘Hurricanes’ has become a powerful name in the community and has spun into the naming of local businesses! Hurricanes Ink, an internet business, as well as Hurricanes Transportation 🚕. Both businesses support the orphanage and help provide jobs for the young people. How cool is that? The ripple effect is real! ✌️💜⚽️
