In May 2023, partnered with Harvest Haul and Lori Brantner to help fight food insecurity in our community. Harvest Haul collects unsold, Carolina-grown produce from farmers at and and shares it with agencies like Nourish Up and . Thanks to this incredible program so far this year, we’ve donated over 10,000 pounds of fresh produce, which we distribute through home deliveries, online orders, and our mobile food pharmacy.

Lori Brantner is the founder of this inspirational program. She and her group of dedicated volunteers spend hours each weekend collecting the food and then cleaning, sorting, and packing it at our new Hunger Hub for distribution.

On Thursday, Lori was awarded Health Equity Leader of the Year at the 2024 Heart of Charlotte Awards. Her tireless work with Harvest Haul ensures our neighbors have access to the fresh, healthy food they deserve. Please join us in congratulating Lori on this well-deserved recognition!

The believes in the power of our community. We see it everyday as our growers and visitors become more than just producer and consumer. Long-lasting friendships are made over our shared bond of good local food.

Please join us as we bring some of that same community we feel at the market to our neighbors in the west. The Charlotte Regional Farmers Market will serve our neighbors by collecting donations from Thursday, Oct. 3 – Sunday, Oct. 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We collected over 200 lbs of product this Saturday through our Veggie Drive at Charlotte Regional Farmers Market. Collectively, between the drive and our regular donations from the market, and the donations from the Uptown Farmers Market, we donated a total of 600 lbs towards Nourish Up! This brings our year to date total to 11,478 lbs.!!

We want to thank everyone who came out and donated and also to the volunteers from the UNCC Business Honors program for helping us sort all of your donations!

We are extremely excited and proud of this accomplishment and even more so to continue to grow and help our community alleviate food insecurity.

This weekend we hit a huge milestone for Harvest Haul! So far in 2024 we have collected and donated over 4 TONS of fresh veggies, fruit, herbs, and other items for Nourish Up and Roof Above.

We are extremely excited and proud of this accomplishment and even more so to continue to grow and help our community alleviate food insecurity.

We broke a new record today at Harvest Haul for Nourish Up and Roof Above with 907 lbs of donated fresh vegetables and fruits in a single day between Uptown Farmers Market and Charlotte Regional Farmers Market .

These donations help alleviate food insecurity in our community, including our most recently added program which provides healthy meals for children in Atrium Health's nephrology department.
