Finish The Work CLT

Finish The Work CLT We honor God through the completion of unfinished construction projects serving communities in need.

It all began when a group of Men went to the island of Barbados in 2005 on a construction mission trip from a local church in Charlotte, NC. They spent seven days working on a 12,000 square foot building that had been in some phase of construction for 12 years. The project had been worked on periodically by various groups from the United States but they had not made provision to complete the proje

ct. This group of men went back to the project several times over the next couple of years and made some progress. After returning from one of these trips founder Joel Davis, felt called to start a ministry that focused on the completion of unfinished projects. Finish the Wall was brought into existence as a 501 (c) 3 in 2007, and takes its name from the story of Nehemiah in the Bible, and his vision to complete the wall around Jerusalem that had fallen into disrepair. In 2008, FTW returned to the island of Barbados with 39 people representing 9 churches from across the eastern US, and saw the project through to completion. Since that time, FTW has completed additional projects, usually one per year, sending 4 separate teams of people, over a 5 week period, to complete a project from beginning to end in Barbados, Trinidad, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras. Future projects are being considered in other countries as well.

2023-2026 FTW worked in Honduras on three different churches which are quickly growing and impacting their communities.

We were privileged to work alongside three godly servants of God- Pastor Jose Madrid, Pastor Wilmer Rigoberto Moncada, and Pastor Manuel Madrid.

These men, along with their families and congregations, prayed for our teams before our arrival, during our time there, and as we returned home.

Each team member, who served on one of these projects, was recognized by the church and thanked for their service.

These men are daily living out 2 Timothy 2:15 (ESV): "Do your best to present yourself to God as approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Thank you pastors for "walking the talk" and being a light to your communities.

Blessings upon blessings to you!

Two fathers were honored with memorial plaques in the Father's House of Manantial de Vida in Chamelecón, Honduras-FTW's 2026 project.

1. Sherman Douglas Hager: Honored by his stepdaughter, Sally Hentz, Sherman volunteered with FTW since its inception, giving of his time and resources and traveling with more than 20 mission teams into his 80s. Sally also has been with FTW since its beginnings, joining Sherman on mission trips and being a valuable member of the Board of Directors with her passion for the ministry and work ethic. Kay, Sherman's wife and Sally's mom, was also very active with FTW, going on mission trips, doing office volunteer work, and writing 100s of letters of encouragement.

2. James Blaine Money: Honored by his son, Jason Money. Jason, an FTW board member, is the driving force behind our annual clay shoot and has been a project manager on mission trips since joining the FTW Board of Directors. Our board wanted to bless his family with this memorial as a way of thanking Jason for all that he does for our ministry.

We are thankful for these two dads who instilled in their adult children, first a love of God, and secondly, a heart for serving God's people.

Proverbs 22:6- "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Proverbs 20:7-"The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him."

The congregation of Manantial de Vida gave each of the 45 FTW team member three beautiful gifts to remember their time in Honduras with a very kind note from Pastor Manuel explaining the significance of each.

We at FTW want to thank Pastor Manuel Madrid and his congregation for the kindness and love shown to us.

You and your congregation reflect the love of Jesus well.

A message from “The House of Peace” in Naranjos, Honduras.

The church Casa de Paz was a FTW project in 2020 and the kindergarten program, in 2019, called Casa Pepita.

“Many thanks to Finish, you truly were a great blessing to the church in Honduras, Casa de Paz de los Naranjos. We were blessed by this great group of missionary men and women. Many greetings, beloved of the Lord.”

The pastors with whom we have partnered also believe in the importance of serving on mission trips.

Pastor Manuel Madrid left this week to go to the most remote area of Honduras- La Mosquitia. To get to this area, it’s 14 hours by car and then 6 or more by boat.

In this video, the 5 pastors on the team are loading supplies for the trip that their congregations have donated.

These supplies include food, clothing, shoes, toys, Bibles etc.

Once they arrive to the area, in addition to delivering the supplies, there are times of fellowship, and the Word of God is preached.

They will preach to three different communities there and pass out provisions to 200 people.

This area is considered, not only the most remote area of Honduras, but also the poorest, and the journey there and back is dangerous.

Prayers lifted up for the pastors!

We loved having a Precision Plumbing team join on a mission trip for the second consecutive year.

The team this year was comprised of, from left to right:

Jorge Perez, Gavin Jones, Juan Olmedo, Owen Simmons, Victor Padilla, Xavier Ortega and in front, Jaime Acosta.

Project leader for Team 4 and Board Member, Jason Money said of the group, "I had a wonderful time serving alongside this group. They were so valuable in helping get us across the finish line. Not only did they work their tails off, but they had great attitudes along the way. We managed to have a lot of fun as well."

We are so thankful for their partnership two consecutive years.
