“Walking in Wisdom Wednesdays”©

The caterpillar never realized the power she had within her.

She went through the process of metamorphosis. This is a Greek word that means transformation or change in shape.

See you have to go through some changes in order to get where you need to be. Once you get through the transformational process; before you know it you are flying.

Don’t be like the caterpillar and give up before you realize that you can fly. Now how beautiful is that.

It doesn’t matter who the person is. Love shouldn’t hurt.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love

I remember sorry flowers arriving to my job after being abused by an intimate partner. That was his way of saying forgive me. I’ll never do it again. I don’t even remember how many times I’m sorry flowers arrived. My coworkers thought he was such a sweet guy and loved me. Only if they knew the truth behind those sorry flowers.

Fast forward to now. I receive flowers to simply say:
✅ I love you. 💕

✅ I was thinking 🤔 about you.

✅ Just thank you.😁

Now flowers having a special meaning to me. I am loved and cherished. 💜

Yes, I survived domestic violence and true love found me. Love shouldn’t hurt.

In this photo I was 21 years old and in my 3rd trimester with our first child....

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Allow me to share those words.

Do you notice the carpet? The carpet was bleached by him after an argument. He lite my stuff animal on fire in the kitchen sink. He destroyed my high school year book and broke my stereo w/ the cd. All because I was listening to a song that he thought I was trying to be funny about. Note: I wasn’t pregnant when all of this happened.

In this photo we’re back together and I am now pregnant. At that time I thought that was what love was supposed to be like. I could change him. He will change. Not knowing he was changing me. I lost myself, my self esteem and the excitement of the things I had already accomplished. But there was one thing I never lost and that was my FAITH in God. God protected me and prepared me to receive a word from someone he directed to me.

I said all of that to say this.
1. Never think that you can change someone that doesn’t see the need or want to change themselves.

2. Never give up on that person that keeps going back. They truly need you and to hear an encouraging word. Sometimes they just can’t see past the situation.

3. Recognized the signs of domestic violence. Go to website for some helpful tips or reach out to us. Everything is kept in confidential.

Life often hands us bricks 🧱.
What you do with them is your choice.

I chose to use my bricks to build an empire that will help others along with building multiple streams of income for my family. Yes I currently maintain a full time job (my silent investor) and I am building my empire one brick at a time. I am a mom of 3, a wife, a big sister, an auntie, a daughter, a niece and a best friend to many. I wear all these hats along with building my empire. Life gets a little crazy every now and again; but I manage. I thank God for keeping me.

Who would’ve thought that my past experiences would prepare me for my future endeavors. Even the bad experiences thought me many lessons.

I survived a life being in the streets and running with the wrong people. I survived being molested at a young age. I survived being r***d by an ex boyfriend with my children in the next room. I survived being married to a narcissistic ex husband who verbally, emotionally and physically abused me.

The most important thing was I chose to SURVIVE and to survive without living in fear of my past. That’s why I chose to open a 501c3 nonprofit for victims of domestic violence. This is also why God gave me the name of my nonprofit.

“I Am Not Afraid Foundation”

2 Timothy 1

Now will you survive without being afraid? Will you help someone else survive?

THERE IS POWER IN I AM....

We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization that advocates for victims and their families that are involved in domestic violence. Our foundation is a taxable nonprofit where all donations are an taxable write off. We created this foundation to educate, empower and encourage victims of domestic violence and their families.

Our foundation is also geared towards encouraging and educating young ladies on how to be successful and to build their self esteem.

The I Am Not Afraid Foundation was created by our founder and CEO Aisha Manning who is an advocate for domestic violence as well as an domestic violence survivor. Aisha was in a previous relationships where she was verbally, mentally and physically abused. Aisha went from being a very energetic; everything had to be in place young lady to a young woman who was told she was ugly, four eyed and no one would ever want her. The high confident young lady went to having very low self esteem.
