It's clear in FPF posts about the Town's planning project for the East and West Villages is how important our farmland, forests, watercourses and scenic landscape are to Charlotters. For several years the CLT and the Town's Planning and Zoning office have worked on a map showing all of the lands protected through conservation easements, Town Open Space Agreements and similar means. The latest version of the map has recently been updated and is available here: https://charlottevt.org/vertical/Sites/%7B797C5C63-8973-48DF-A5F9-82DC6FAE7EDF%7D/uploads/co[...]pdf

Take a look, it represents years of effort by several land trusts, the Town, the commitment of many landowners and especially the support of so many Charlotters. For all of you who have supported the Charlotte Land Trust, look at what you've helped accomplish! Thanks for being our partners. Every year for about 10 days in July the Charlotte Land Trust puts up signs on most of the conserved properties around town. We try to post all the land that you can see from the road so that it is highlighted. CLT holds easements on some of the properties while other conservation organizations hold easements on others. We want to particularly thank the landowners for their commitment to their property and their interest in seeing it conserved for future generations. Conserved land in town includes scenic vistas, farmland, habitat and forestland.
