💐 This Mother’s Day, we reflect on the good in the world. 💐

When we look at this photo, we see more than a moment, we see community, compassion, and connection.
In this image, Peak Resources is honoring and celebrating the mothers who call their facility home. You’ll see beautiful flower pots and succulents created with care by Winston & Strawn LLP and vibrant outdoor mural projects designed by youth from Chameleon's Journey Mini Camp this past April—bringing color, joy, and life into shared spaces.

Each volunteer, partner, and creative spirit represented here reminds us why we do this work. It is a joy and an honor to bring comfort, love, and meaningful connection to those who are so often forgotten in our community.

Because community includes everyone.
And we are deeply grateful that Love in Action Project continues to be the magnet that draws us all together.

💗 Happy Mother’s Day to all who nurture, care, and love today and always

This Community Connection Love Pickup features Bridgette Wallace sharing her reasons for volunteering with us. Her words remind us that service is about connection, belief, and showing up for one another.

We are grateful for partners and volunteers, including community leaders from Wells Fargo Public Affairs team, who believe in building stronger, more connected communities with us.

We love when partnership turns into moments of joy and connection. 💚🌱

These beautiful, hand‑painted succulents—created with care by Winston & Strawn LLP were created for the residents at Peak Resources Charlotte, bringing color, creativity, and community connection.

We’re grateful to walk alongside partners who lead with heart and help us turn simple acts into meaningful impact.

Thank you, Peak Resources, for welcoming this moment of connection—and thank you to everyone who believes in spreading love through action.

So grateful to Peak Resources (Charlotte, NC) for welcoming this beautiful banner into their community space. Created with love through our partnership with UNC Charlotte Alumni ACE Alumni and VIA Health Partners Chameleon's Journey campers and counselors, this piece is a meaningful part of our Outside In Project, which brings the outdoors indoors to encourage mobility and connection and to help combat social isolation and loneliness among nursing home residents. It is a reminder that creativity, community connection, and color truly uplift. Thank you for letting Love in Action be part of this moment! 🌈✨

We are so proud to share an exciting milestone in our journey to address social isolation and loneliness in Charlotte 💛

Over the past two semesters, we partnered with undergraduate researchers as part of the university’s Community-Engaged Research program. This past week, student researchers Jahdoi Russell and Asya Crisp presented their final research at UNC Charlotte’s Undergraduate Research Conference—bringing to life months of thoughtful, purpose-driven work rooted in our community.

Together, we explored how human connection, creativity, and love can foster healing and reduce loneliness across Charlotte. This research will directly support the upcoming launch of Loneliness Week in Charlotte, an initiative focused on raising awareness, sparking dialogue, and inspiring meaningful connection citywide.

We are deeply grateful for this partnership and for the guidance of research mentor Dr. Sarah Powell, whose leadership helped bridge scholarship and real-world impact.

This is what community + research + heart looks like. 💫

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in and build with us. More to come soon—and we can’t wait to share what’s next.

THOUGHT 💭

When was the last time you sat at a table and created something with someone, just to make another person feel seen?

This is US ❤️🚗💨✨

We’re a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2010 in Charlotte, and our mission is simple:
to combat social isolation and loneliness through art and human connection.

✨ Question for you: If you could send one message to someone who feels forgotten, what would you say?
Drop it in the comments ⬇️
(We’ll turn a few of your messages into handmade cards or use them for our next connection wall.)

This weekend was truly special. 💛

We had the privilege of serving alongside VIA Health Partners Chameleon's Journey during a thoughtfully designed spring mini-camp experience on healing, care, and connection. The camp’s theme, Rooted, grounded everything, from the incredible counselors to the intentional spaces created for young people to feel safe, supported, and seen.

Our Love in Action Project activity aligned beautifully with Outside In Project, our spring and summer initiative that supports those experiencing mobility challenges by bringing the beauty and calming presence of nature indoors to promote healing and mindfulness.

During camp, campers and counselors worked together to create two meaningful projects:

🌼 Flower‑collage and Outside In cards, made to bring the colors and joy of the outdoors into nursing home spaces for residents who may not be able to easily get outside.

🦋 Our Connection Wall, a large, whimsical nature scene filled with flowers, trees, butterflies, and spring imagery. The banner, colored by volunteers, will be hung in a nursing home community space to spark conversations, invite reflection, and encourage connection among residents as they gather to share what they see and feel.

We are grateful to have been part of an experience that reflects what can happen when intentional care, creativity, and community come together.

This is love in action.
