In April, students in Cuba get a week off from school—a time that has traditionally been an opportunity for churches to bless children and families in their communities. This year, however, the ongoing crisis has made life especially difficult. With few places to go and limited activities, many children spend time at home with little to do.

One local church saw an opportunity to make a difference. They organized a fun and faith-filled week of activities for children in the community, complete with games, dancing, lessons, snacks, and plenty of joy. The response was incredible: 73 children and about 20 family members attended!

The children were especially excited to take home a Christian activity book, and the week became so much more than entertainment—it was a chance to feel encouraged and reminded of God’s love.

This Easter, one church gathered together, not because it was easy, but because it mattered. In the middle of hardship, they chose to celebrate hope, worship together, and remember the promise of new life.

We recently sent a box of sandwich bags to a church in Cuba. The leader often wants to share prizes or gifts, but she didn't have a proper bag to do so. Several times, she gave the children in her ministry the item unwrapped, or she had to spend more on the wrapper than on the gifts.

"Since receiving the sandwich bags, it has been a blessing. Every time we have awarded people at church, they have gotten excited about the beautifully wrapped gift and about being able to reuse the bag. It is a very tiny detail, but it makes a difference."

Sometimes, a simple note can create change and impact.

When volunteers pack fortified rice meals, they write messages on the box—words of encouragement, hope, and care. Those boxes then travel miles to reach the people who need them most.

And while the nourishment matters, those handwritten messages often touch hearts just as much.
