What if you knew that geo-tagging your posts was damaging the outdoors?

Samuel Martin, thru-hiker, photographer and friend of ours provides us with a practical guide on how to limit our impact to the outdoors we love in the age of social media.

The opportunity to share amazing landscapes and images across social media outlets inspires people to get out and see their public lands for themselves. But with this increase in people exploring nature we have also seen the negative affects of over crowding in our most popular parks and wild places

One of the best parts about living in Charlotte is how close you are to incredible views and hikes, not only in NC, but anywhere from GA up to WV. Grayson Highlands in VA is a short 2.5 hour trip from Charlotte with some of the best hiking you can experience.

Have you ever thought about doing the Carolina Thread Trail in its entirety?

Carolina Thread Trail. We all know about it right? But did you know how diverse the trail system actually is? Spoiler alert: I just completed every single segment of the Carolina Thread Trail (CTT) this summer and it is way more diverse that I originally thought.

Earlier this year, our partner, RECOVER, graciously donated shirts to help us raise money for our non-profit organization. While we believe in our mission to create a unified voice for Charlotte’s outdoor community, these unprecedented times have created a more immediate need for local small business like Blue Blaze Brewing.

Businesses like Blue Blaze Brewing, The Great Outdoor Provision Company, and Jesse Brown's have been the backbone of the entire Charlotte outdoor community. They sponsor our races and support our scout troops. They organize group hikes, collaborate with non-profits, and hold trail clean-up days. An

OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT LOCAL: Buy a t-shirt + a $25 for only $40 (a $50 value!). Link in bio.

STORY: Earlier this year our partner graciously donated shirts to help us raise money for our non-profit organization. Our primary purpose is to help support and build a unified voice for Charlotte's outdoor community. With that in mind, many small outdoor-focused businesses have been an integral part of our early success; businesses like , and . As we enter into these unprecedented times, we cannot sit back and watch our friends and partners struggle in waiting to be able to open the doors again and so we wanted to do whatever we could to support them.

So in partnership with , we have donated our shirts to be sold by along with a $25 gift card for beer to be used once they can open their doors again. Please consider buying the package to help keep their lights on and delicious beer in their kegs. Blue Blaze will deliver the package (along with any additional beer you want to buy now) or you can swing by and pick it up during available hours.

We're hoping this is successful so that we can explore other opportunities with our friends and partners to help them as well. Please support local small businesses!
