WOW!! We are so honored to be the 2027 beneficiary of Bub's Run! We love participating in this event every year! This means a lot to us to be selected by Becky Loveland who was one of the earliest supporters of SPEED For NEED - North Georgia! In early 2022, with plans for our 2nd Annual Bub’s Run fully underway, we received a phone call from Scott Luiña with Speed for Need - an organization we’d never heard of, but that would become a cornerstone of the foundation and success of Bub’s Run.
Building upon a vision that began in 2017 when they raced with their first athlete, Owen, Speed for Need offers assistance to exceptional athletes or “Track Commanders,” in completing road races, their custom racing chairs providing a sleek and comfortable ride across the finish line. Throughout the last ten years, Speed for Need has raced with over 400 Track Commanders in more than 150 events across the Southeast. Speed for Need strives to raise awareness of and foster inclusion for athletes of all abilities, measuring their success in the smiles and laughter of race day. It takes but one race with this extraordinary group to ask their trademark question: “Who Pushes Who?”
For the last five years, Bub's Run has had the great fortune of partnering with Speed for Need. They have shared their fleet of racing chairs, recruited Chair Captains to race with us and offered their muscle to serve as Bub’s Buddies. They have been a constant source of positivity, support and compassion in keeping Kelson’s memory and legacy strong. In 2027, we are truly delighted to turn those tables and name Speed for Need as beneficiary of the 7th Annual Bub’s Run!!
