Charlotte Quilters Guild

Charlotte Quilters Guild Promoting the Art & Craft of Quilting through Community, Outreach & Education We’re thrilled to welcome you as our guest!

OUR MISSION:

The Charlotte Quilters’ Guild seeks to inspire creativity and build community through education, outreach, and exhibition opportunities for quilters of all backgrounds and skill levels. We celebrate and preserve the cultural heritage of quilting while exploring the work of contemporary quilters to catalyze experimentation, spark imagination, and encourage self-expression through text

ile craft and design. WHERE TO FIND US:

The Charlotte Quilters’ Guild gathers on the first Wednesday of each month (excluding July) from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Our meetings are open to the public and sponsored by Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation at the Tyvola Senior Center. Expect a brief business meeting and member show and tell followed by an educational lecture, trunk show, or special activity. Doors open at 4pm for those wanting to enjoy unstructured social or sewing time before the meeting – pack up whatever project you’re working on and we’ll have an iron and ironing board to share. Both machine work and hand sewing are welcome.

A message from Connie:
We ARE HAVING A PLAYDATE ON APRIL FIRST! Our agenda will be: Sew from kits, (quilt and bind). I have over 50 kits, so show up with your machines! Play Dates are the perfect platform for making new friends, sewing together, maintaining the energy of doing good works for others in need of us and our skills. I want you to know that you are a large and important part of my own life as well as what I do as Outreach Director.

Details: I’ll be there at 4pm to set up. I will provide: quilt kits and sewing instructions, batting, 505 spray (if you have your own and you plan to quilt, please do bring it).

You provide: your energy, sewing & cutting tools, sewing machines (& cords!), walking feet if planning to quilt, irons for seams, ironing mats and whatever else you think you’ll need. If you don’t bring your machine - bring needle and thread as hand binding is always appreciated or sewing on labels. Fun for all, really. Play Dates are held every other month, so mark your calendars for June, Aug. and Oct.

See you there!
Connie
