The Charlotte Quilters’ Guild gathers on the first Wednesday of each month (excluding July) from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Our meetings are open to the public and sponsored by Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation at the Tyvola Senior Center. Expect a brief business meeting and member show and tell followed by an educational lecture, trunk show, or special activity. Doors open at 4pm for those wanting to enjoy unstructured social or sewing time before the meeting – pack up whatever project you’re working on and we’ll have an iron and ironing board to share. Both machine work and hand sewing are welcome.

exploring the rich history and artistry of the legendary
Gee's Bend Quilters.
During this presentation, you will discover:
• The history of Gee's Bend, Alabama, and its cultural
significance
• How the Gee's Bend Quilters were brought to national
attention
• The distinctive quilting styles and techniques that
define their work
• Original quilts created by Rick and Rack inspired by
the Gee's Bend Quilters tradition

Our May workshop will be hosted by Linda Hahn who will show us how to make the New York Beauty Blocks of her Guyon Grey pattern (which is only available in her workshops). This workshop will be held at Southern Lion on May 20, 2026 from 10 AM – 3 PM. There are 20 spots available for this workshop and it is open to Charlotte Quilters’ Guild members and non-members.

The member rate is $45. The non-member rate is $60. Participants will also be required to purchase the pattern, foundation paper, and template kit from Linda at the workshop for $30 (please bring cash or check to the workshop). A supply list will be emailed to participants prior to the workshop to the email address you use to register for the workshop.
