🐾 The South Piedmont AHEC team celebrated Take Your Pet to Work Week in our own unique way! 🐾

Even though we weren't all together in the office, our furry coworkers still managed to make an appearance. Team members shared photos of their beloved pets for a fun Pet Match-Up Challenge, where colleagues tried to guess which pet belonged to which team member. 🐶🐱
We also spent the week giving back by hosting a Pet Food Drive to support our local animal shelter and the animals in its care. ❤️

Whether they're joining virtual meetings, keeping us company while we work from home, or simply providing snuggles and smiles throughout the day, our pets help brighten our lives and remind us to pause and enjoy the little things.

📸 Now it's your turn! Share a photo of your pet in the comments and tell us what their job title would be. We'd love to meet them!

🐾 Fun Fact: Take Your Dog to Work Day® was created by Pet Sitters International in 1999 to celebrate the companionship pets provide and to encourage pet adoption. Today, the celebration has expanded into Take Your Pet to Work Week®, recognizing all kinds of pets and the joy they bring to our lives. 🐾

What an incredible day at the 2026 Metrolina Library Association Conference! We were honored to serve as both host and sponsor for this meaningful event, bringing together library professionals from across the region to learn, collaborate, and strengthen the communities we serve.

From thought-provoking discussions on the evolving role of AI to conversations focused on community engagement and innovation, the day was filled with valuable insights and shared experiences.

A special thank you to our keynote panelists:
✨ Jennifer Arnold, Executive Director of Libraries at Central Piedmont Community College
✨ Emery McTindal, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library
✨ Jill Sexton, Dean of J. Murrey Atkins Library at UNC Charlotte

We also extend our gratitude to the University of South Carolina iSchool, our conference partner and vendor, and to all of our attendees—both returning and first-time participants—for making this event such a success.

One message stood out above all others: when libraries work together, our impact on the communities we serve is even greater.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 Metrolina Library Association Conference a memorable and inspiring day. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and building stronger communities together.

💙 June Is Men’s Health Month — Let’s Talk About It
Care doesn’t happen alone—and it shouldn’t have to.
Men’s health is shaped by the people and connections that surround them: partners, families, caregivers, friends, and communities at every stage of life.

When men feel supported through connection, education, and shared advocacy, they’re more likely to seek care, stay engaged, and live healthier, longer lives.

This June, South Piedmont AHEC is highlighting the power of partnership in health—because better support leads to better outcomes.

✅ Check in on the men in your life
✅ Start the conversation
✅ Encourage preventive care

Stronger connections. Stronger health.
