We had a great event Friday night! It was the first annual UCity Lights Winter Celebration at the Shoppes at University place. Charlotte Mayor Lyles was the most gracious honorary host to light the Christmas tree and there were tons of activities for families.

President and CEO, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Tom Barkin is talking consumer spending and inflation at Charlotte Regional Business Alliance investor quarterly meeting Bank of America center. He expects we’ll have an economic slowdown but not as long or severe as 2008 recession.

We are stunned by Tom Murray’s announcement that he is stepping down as the the CEO of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority / Visit Charlotte to pursue other interests. He has been an amazing asset to our city and it has been a pleasure working in the hospitality industry with him all these years! He indicated that he intends to still advocate for the industry so I hope we still get to see him on a regular basis. We wish him luck and happiness in all that he plans to do next!!! Thanks for everything Tom!
