Sometimes the answer to reducing our environmental impact on the planet is easy to do and right under our nose.

Upcycle Life is a locally-based, not-for-profit company which produces one-of-a-kind bags and accessories, helping the environment and transforming lives by creating jobs for individuals in Charlotte’s most under-served communities. First, we believe we can be a powerful force for change in the region’s environmental sustainability efforts by showing people how simple it can be to take materials w

e might otherwise throw away, and turning those materials into amazing new products that we all use in our everyday lives. We want to show the world that giving unwanted materials a second life does not have to take a lot of effort or require a tremendous amount of additional energy. Secondly, we wanted our entire business model to revolve around helping those in our local community who are most in need. In addition to providing training and employment opportunities for the most marginalized members living in the Charlotte region, we donate 10% of all revenue to local service organizations who already make a difference everyday as they serve in our neighborhoods.

You Drink, We Donate event at NoDa Brewing Company this evening. We'll be there with Upcycle Life totes and yoga bags for sale so come on out and support the work of our refugee artisans!

Another recent order ... some really fun slant side grocery totes for . The recycled billboard vinyl was artwork by artist, Arthur Brouthers. It was so vibrant and lots of fun to work with. The colors were beautiful and every bag was strikingly unique and practical!

We've got some really great tote bags for sale on Saturday at the Project 658 Christmas celebration and market. These are made from recycled show banners from the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. The market is from 10-11 so come early if you want to snag one!

We just finished a couple of projects yesterday that we've had in the works for a while; passport holders, luggage tags, and tote bags for the Charlotte Douglas Airport Volunteers and wine totes for the Adams Outdoor hospitality tent at the Queen's Cup this weekend. On to new projects next week!
