LHK Education’s goals stemmed from the facts of the current state of the U.S. education and economy. Fact: College is not for everyone. Even Harvard University in a report called “Pathways to Prosperity” agrees with that statement. Goal: Provide an alternative learning option for high school graduates that will help them get jobs.

Fact
: According to the U.S. Dept of Education, only 34% of students graduate from open enrollment colleges. This fact reflects what we already know: people learn differently. Goal: Provide an alternative learning option for high school graduates that do not excel using textbooks and tests so that they can succeed.

Fact: Employers have job openings, but cannot find applicants with soft skills. Goal: Teach students the in-demand soft skills that employers want to make students hire-able and desirable.

Fact: In a study by Harvard University, Charlotte ranked 50 out of 50 in economic mobility. This means, “If you are born poor, you have a worse chance of escaping that poverty growing up in Charlotte than any other sizable city in America.”
Goal: Help pull Charlotte out of that dismal state by providing an alternative learning option for high school graduates that is affordable and accessible to all, helps them get jobs, and teaches them the invaluable skills that can help them grow from entry level to executive level.
