We are excited to continue our popular Youth Debate Club over the summer by offering this unique German Debate Camp from July 20 to July 24 -- the only kind of summer camp in North Carolina, based on the "Jugend Debattiert" initiative of the German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Hertie Foundation, led by our certified "Jugend debattiert" teacher Dr. Hofmann.
This German Debate Camp is for rising 3rd to 12th graders who want to take their German language skills one step further by learning how to debate like a pro. It particularly benefits students prepping for DSD 1 and DSD 2 exams, students who love having meaningful conversations, and students who are struggling with conversational anxiety and/or shyness.
No prior debate knowledge required, only knowledge of the German language.
For questions please contact Dr. Hofmann.

It is never too early to learn about your child’s educational career choices.😊🎓

Is your child interested in pursuing the German Language Diploma DSD B1 and/or C1 and is not sure yet which future educational pathway to choose? Then this information session is for you!

Parents and German students attending public and private high schools, German immersion middle schools, and homeschoolers are invited to join Mr. Robert Schatz, our German Language Adviser from the German Federal Government, on Saturday, October 18, 10am-11am.

You will learn about following options:

🎓 Dual Study Program (Duales Studium)
A unique opportunity that combines academic studies with hands-on experience in a company and vocational training. Dual Study programs can be either training- career- or practice-integrated.

🛠️ Dual Vocational Training (Duale Berufsausbildung)
A globally recognized system where students train both at a workplace and in a vocational school.
You'll learn about required qualifications, program length and how the training is split between school and the workplace.

🇺🇸 Local Opportunity: Apprenticeship 2000
This is a partnership between German and Austrian manufacturing companies and Central Piedmont Community College, allowing students to benefit from the dual vocational model right here in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties.

With hundreds of career choices and strong job prospects, these paths offer exciting opportunities for your child's future.

You’ll gain the information and confidence to support your child in exploring these promising educational and professional opportunities.

Please feel free to share this invitation with interested friends and community members.
