The Community of Philosophical Thinkers (UNCC Philosophy Club) Meetings for Spring 2017: Wednesdays at 6:00pm - Winningham Lounge

The meetings and the organization are open to anyone who is interested in discussing a wide variety of philosophical topics. Past topics have included discussions of various philosophers as well as: the limits of free speech, the vocoder and “authenticity” in pop music, regionalism and ethics, philosophical themes in the Watchmen, opportunities for students with degrees in Philosophy. You do not h

ave to be a Philosophy major or minor to attend the meeting or to join The Community of Philosophical Thinkers. In addition to informal discussions, The Community of Philosophical thinkers also sponsors several events on campus, including a student conference, and takes occasional trips to philosophy conferences and talks.

Best wishes for a great first week of classes to everyone :) Our first meeting of the Spring semester will be held next Wednesday (1/18) at 6pm in the Winningham Lounge, and this will be our regular time this term. Our Club is interdisciplinary and welcome to all majors, minors, and interests. Whether you like to speak, ask questions, listen, or all of the above, there's a space for you.
