🎃 Halloween + climate action? We’re into it...

Charlotte Mecklenburg Climate Leaders is getting together for a night of community, trivia, and a little friendly competition.

Costumes are encouraged while you put your climate knowledge to the test with a data center trivia game. We’ll dig into what’s happening with data center development in Charlotte and across North Carolina, from energy and water use to the policies shaping where and how these facilities get built.

Then we’ll wrap up the night with a costume contest. 👻
Come hang out, learn something new, and connect with other folks who care about where our communities are headed.

Join SOL Nation for our October Community Clean Up! bit.ly/ccu1031

We’ll be doing more than picking up litter. Volunteers will help clean the neighborhood, survey for opportunities for additional trash cans, and connect with residents to hear about concerns, questions, and what they’re experiencing in their community.

Come out, lend a hand, listen, and help us put community concerns into action.

Connect with SOL Nation this fall. 🍂

On October 31, we’ll be back in the community for a Community Clean Up & Canvas, creating space to care for our neighborhoods and connect with residents. We’re also raising funds to support the ongoing operations of our Mobile Market Bus and its work to increase access to fresh, local food. Then on November 21, we’re bringing everyone together for a Friendsgiving Community Clean Up!

Caring for our communities is something we can do together.
Stay connected for more details and ways to get involved.

bit.ly/solfoodnetwork | Food is getting more expensive, but access to healthy, fresh, and culturally relevant food isn’t equal across our communities.

For many families, rising food prices are making already difficult choices even harder. And where you live can shape what food is available, how much it costs, and how easily you can access it.
We believe our communities deserve more than a food system that leaves people with limited choices.

That’s why SOL Nation is working to build food sovereignty from our Food Sovereignty documentary to our upcoming Mobile Market Bus, we are inviting you to stay connected to our community events, conversations, and other opportunities to get involved.

Grow what’s possible. Grow the movement.

SOL Summit 2026 with Sol Nation | Beyond the Recap: Reverend Vahisha Hasan

What happens when we recognize where power actually comes from?

During the SOL Summit, Reverend Vahisha Hasan, social impact strategist and wellness practitioner, spoke about the relationship between people and the systems that govern them.
Rulers may create rules and systems, but those systems still depend on people to enforce them, maintain them, and keep society moving.

That raises an important question: What happens when people recognize their own collective power?

For our communities, shifting power means more than recognizing what's not working. It means building the knowledge, relationships, resources, and systems we need to sustain ourselves — and making sure our communities have a voice in the decisions that shape our lives.

Community sovereignty starts with recognizing that we have a role in creating the change we want to see.

Don't Keep That Same Energy.

This is another look at the conversations that made the SOL Summit more than just an event.

Join SOL Nation for our October Community Clean Up as we continue caring for our shared spaces and connecting with the people who call these neighborhoods home.

In addition to cleaning up and surveying the area for opportunities for additional trash cans, we’ll be going door to door to talk with residents, hear what’s happening in their neighborhoods, and learn more about the concerns and questions they have about their communities.
Sometimes, the first step toward finding a solution is simply listening.

Come out, lend a hand, and help us keep our neighborhoods clean while making space for community voices to be heard.

Sol Nation | Beyond the Recap with Sharisse McGill, founder of Tranquil Quietude, PLLC.

A summit isn’t just about what happens on the stage or in a workshop. It’s also about the spaces we create for people to pause, connect, reflect, and take care of themselves.

During the SOL Summit, Tranquil Quietude, LLC provided a wellness space where attendees could step away from the day, reset, and tend to their well-being.

In this first look beyond the recap, we’re hearing directly from Tranquil Quietude about the purpose behind the wellness space, what it offered, and why creating spaces for wellness matters. Especially when we’re doing work that asks so much of our communities.

Because community leadership care is part of the work, too.

Don’t Keep That Same Energy.
Take a closer look at some of the people, conversations, and moments that made the SOL Summit what it was. 💚

Tiffany Fant, Sol Nation's Executive Director, and Jeff Robbins, Executive Director of Clean AIRE NC talks about the importance of engaging faith leaders in environmental justice and community sovereignty initiatives.

Faith communities have deep roots in neighborhoods. They know their communities, build relationships, care for people, and often serve as trusted spaces for connection and support. Bringing faith leaders into this work creates more opportunities to share information, build relationships, and strengthen community-led solutions.

For SOL Nation, community sovereignty means making sure people have a voice in the decisions that shape their health, environment, neighborhoods, and future.
Watch the conversation to hear Tiffany share why faith leaders have an important role to play in that work. 🌱
