Charlotte is on the fastest growing cities in America ranking at 17 behind Austin and Fort Worth, Texas. Over 25 percent of Charlotte households make at least $100,000 a year, but a quarter of Charlotte children are poor – 5 percent of white kids, 36 percent of blacks, 39 percent of Hispanics. Children raised in poverty in the Charlotte area have a 4% chance of escaping poverty. Y.E.S is designed to bridge that gap by assisting today's youth by providing them the keys to break the cycle.
