Update: BEST NEWS!!! Very very early mitral valve disease. Stage B1. No need for medications. No heart enlargement. Chest radiographs to follow up in 6 months.

Officially introducing the newest member of the household!!

Meet Walter “Wall-E” Henry English-Marris…his government name 😂

Walter (2-3 year old pittie mix) came to us from Gaston County Animal Control. He was found in February abandoned in a crate with f***s up to his knees and urine burns on his skin. Walter was the dog testing dog at the shelter and is great with everyone…but gets a little overwhelmed with excitement which we’re working on. He’s got allergies, but nothing mom can’t manage with all her experience with Pumba.

We’re still learning all about Walter, but every day is a little better!

My heart is breaking. Daisy went in for her annual today. She went from no heart murmur to a grade 2 (out of 6)…suspected mitral valve disease but needs an echo. The cardiologist is booked until September. Waiting to hear back from another one and will call NC State tomorrow. Ughhhh… 😢

Update: we’re getting in to see Upstate Vet in Greenville SC next week!

I got a new brother and he’s a little crazier than the shelter led us to believe. He’s at board and train for 2 weeks but mommy needs help. She wasn’t expecting $2,000 of training in the first 48 hours. Help us bring Walter “Wall-E” home! Even $5 helps!!

A message from our Founder, Kristen

Walter aka Wall-E, formerly Ghost, came into my life on May 2nd after being rescued from a heartbreaking situation—abandoned in a crate, living in his own f***s and urine and suffering from urine burns, demodex mange and allergies. Though described as a 6-year-old terrier mix, he’s only 2–3 and has never learned how to properly interact with people or other dogs.

Since bringing Wall-E home, it’s clear he faces significant behavioral challenges. He’s very overwhelmed and frustrated, pulls on walks (he’s VERY strong), jumps on people and humps them, and struggles with social cues. Crating isn’t an option due to extreme stress. Within 30 hours, two trainers confirmed he can improve—but it will take time, commitment, and LOTS of training.

I was prepared for the vet bills, but I wasn’t expecting $2,000 in training within the first 48 hours.

I’m asking for help to get Wall-E the training he needs to safely thrive in our home. Any support toward training programs means the world and helps give him the second chance he deserves. Thank you 🤍
