It is a crime to be a woman in Afghanistan.🇦🇫
Today, the Taliban's supreme leader declared that women are no longer allowed to show their faces in public.
The new legislation mandates that clothing must not be thin, tight, or short, and face coverings are required to prevent😡
"temptation." Women are also forbidden from looking at men who are not their relatives, and men are likewise banned from looking at unrelated women.
Even a woman's voice is not spared -considered "intimate," women are now prohibited from singing, reciting poetry, or reading aloud in public.
As if it wasn't enough for the Taliban to deprive our women of an education and a future, they now want to make our women INVISIBLE. This is not religion. This is not what faith looks like. This is OPPRESSION. This is a war against HUMAN RIGHTS.
I stand in solidarity with our sisters and mothers, imprisoned by the inhumane and merciless Taliban.
