Tracy and I have done the work to manage an RSCM course each year, 2001-2024. This year the Charlotte Course (since 2004) is merging with the Washington DC RSCM Summer Choral Residency, July 15-21. For more information about the Washington offerings, see their web page at www.rscmwashingtondc.org We hope everyone will enjoy the opportunities offered in Washington.

We've enjoyed our years of managing RSCM summer courses, including the Carolina Course for Boys and Adults, and our founding and managing of the Gulf Coast Course for Girls and adults in 2002.

Many thanks to all who have joined us in Charlotte since 2004 for music-making, learning, worship, and fun! We wish all the best to our Charlotte course family, but we are now retiring from the work of RSCM course management that we've done since 2001.

for advanced singers — both treble choristers and teen and adult altos, tenors, and basses. The Washington Course is an exciting and challenging course that takes place on the campuses of Catholic University in Washington, D.C., as well other important venues in the D.C. metropolitan area.

The first two days of a summer choral residency are a whirlwind. The first day is just us schlepping everything to the college, getting unloaded, and organized as the staff starts to arrive. The second day folks arrive, check in, move in, audition, flights are delayed, some get cancelled, linens are forgotten, and whatever you need is across campus and you can’t park there 🤪. But, then, you have the first rehearsal in a resonant and beautiful space with well prepared choristers, and that’s where the magic happens!

We visited Davidson today and it's going to be so good! The dorm has been renovated in recent years, and the bathrooms are in good shape. The dining hall is very close by, DCPC is lovely with excellent rehearsal spaces and a very short and beautiful walk from the dorm.
The campus is smack dab in the middle of the town, very walkable, and so charming! It's going to be a great week!

We hope everybody enjoyed a lovely Easter Day and had a break after the rigors of Holy Week!

We are still accepting registrations and our April 30th deadline is approaching. We know things get hectic as the end of the school year and church program year approaches. We'd love to finalize our staff and plans for a great week of music-making in July.

If you need a little more time to get your registrations in - just contact Alan Reed at [email protected]! Registration forms and all course information are available on our website: https://www.stje.org/rscm
