SHOW CANCELLATION UPDATE
Due to the ehv1 outbreak at the Bucksnort Trail Ride in April, the officers of the Charlotte Saddle Club have made the decision to cancel all shows for the remainder of the month of May. With our close proximity to Bucksnort we feel that for the safety of our member's horses and to hopefully help in curbing the spread of this lethal virus, this is the best action to take.
We apologise for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause. Your horse's safety is our main concern. We have spoken with several veterinarians regarding this decision. They are all in agreement that even though none of our member's horses have experienced any symptoms of the virus, this is the best action to take.
We have also spoken with Mr Jim Owen, President of the TSCA, to ensure this action WILL NOT jeopardize our qualification for the State Show. He has assured us that having had a show this month, we are in good standing with the TSCA.
We Will resume our regular show schedule starting June 2nd. We encourage you to call your vet and make sure your horses have been fully vaccinated and ask them for any advice on keeping your horses safe.
You can get more information on Ehv1 online. Type in Ehv1 Outbreak in TN 2012 in your search engine. Information on the Bucksnort outbreak and other information on the virus will be readily available.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. We hope to see you all back again June 2nd ready to show! Our first show was a success with several new members. Let's keep it growing!
