Had a fun time in Charlotte, NC this weekend hanging out with a few hundred Zimbos watching the Zimbabwe Sables Rugby team play here.

I love this part of prep work- it’s starting to get real! 3 months to go!!!

We have packed 6 backpacks. We have done 16 backpacks. We even did 22 backpacks once… but 38?! We just packed 38 team backpacks with shirts, lights, and cooling towels (plus some random prize winners). I can’t believe we have this many coming with us.

Once again, big love to:
Cotopaxi for the awesome backpacks, we love how these always seem to go great with our logo.
LUXPRO for the headlights, flashlights and for being there with us since the beginning!
Travis Forbush for the sweet shirts every year!
RTIC Outdoors you make great coolers and sell them at a respectable price. I think at last count we had purchased around 26 of your coolers, lost 10 in a fire (and they still managed to keep the ice frozen). They are African Bush Bush approved!

This is how it starts- boxes of medical supplies, bags of soccer balls, 23 empty duffle bags, 4 coolers.
It ends in 5 short months each duffel will be packed to 50lbs and checked with our 38 team members headed to Zim.
We are headed to Utah in June to start packing it all up- feel free to come by and see us:

The final team is in place- 38 coming with us this year:
24 are new to ZimbabWEcare.
14 returning for more adventures.

We have 16 nurses, 2 NP’s, 4 physicians, 1 dentist along with contractors, skilled laborers, and all Humanitarians at heart! Several are brining family members- spouses, siblings, and kids.

I keep reflecting on our first trip back in 2015 when there were only 6 of us. Huge thanks to all who have come over the years:
This will be our 11th mission trip.
We will have taken 160 people with us.
Transported over 4 tons of medical and humanitarian supplies with us.
Touched countless lives, but each one has left an impression on our souls.

Again- Tadenda, Tatenda, Tatenda!!! It has been quite a ride.

Looking forward to heading down again in a few short months.

Tentative Travel:
Depart JFK Sat Sept 26th 23:00 from JFK via Dubai (overnight in Dubai) and Arriving in Zim Mon Sept 28th 17:10

Returning Friday Oct 9th 18:50 from Zim via Dubai and arriving back to JFK Sat Oct 10th 14:25

We will start working on flight arrangements (group booking) once we have team firmed up with deposits on Feb 15th.
We are planning on the overnight stay in Dubai again (as we did with early trips) so a nice little reprieve in the long travel there.

Again first deposit to hold your spot is due Feb 15th!
Plans are starting in earnest!!!

9 short months till we head back to Zim. We have a great team shaping up, if all goes as planned will be our biggest group yet.
