Winterfield Community Garden

Winterfield Community Garden Our garden is a partnership with the community surrounding the Winterfield Neighborhood and the children of Winterfield Elementary.

Affiliated with Mecklenburg County's Park and Recreation Department, Winterfield Community Garden features 28 10’x10’ rental plots
Students at neighboring Winterfield Elementary have 18 2’x10’ plots that they use for learning about gardening and how to prepare the veggies they grow. The "Garden Buds" meet once a week to work in their plots and harvest their crops. We have a group of volunteers and

parents that come help with their plots as well. The garden is a great way to stay connected to the community and meet new people. We always welcome a friendly face!

Please bring your own work gloves and hand tools if you have them - We'll have some equipment on hand.
Wear long pants, long sleeves (optional); and closed-toe shoes are REQUIRED!
*Be warned: No restroom facilities at or close to this site.

PARKING: Use the listed address for GPS - 3105 Winterfield Place, 28205 - the Garden is on the right directly across from Winterfield Elementary School. Park on the street in front of the Garden's main entrance, or in the school parking lot.
