The Charlotte Modern Quilt Guild is a group of people passionate about modern quilting. We are a branch of the Modern Quilt Guild that began in LA in 2009. Currently we are meeting virtually via Zoom at 6:30pm. Zoom details are sent to members a few days before the meeting. Modern Quilting is a marriage of the vintage skill of quilting and a modern approach and attitude. Modern fabrics, modern des

ign and personal interpretations update quilting and open doors of creativity for quilters of all ages. The CLT MQG is a place for members to share their skills, learn new techniques, meet new friends and have fun quilting. We are a group of modern quilters and would be happy to have you join us. All skill levels are welcome. We hope you'll come be a part of the modern quilting revolution.

Fabric and Craft sale

My late wife, Dawn Stephens, was an avid and passionate quilter and a member of the Charlotte Quilters Guild until her passing in 2024. To coincide with our neighborhood's annual yard sale, I am offering her extensive collection of quilting materials and supplies for sale, including:

- hundreds of yards of fabrics including fat quarters, kits, and batting
- Tools such as scissors, rotary cutters, irons and rulers
- Books, patterns, and guides
- Threads, ribbons, and bobbins, etc.
- A long arm sewing machine and a serger
- Lamps, and lighting equipment

I want to extend a special thanks to Jan Simmons of the Charlotte Quilters Guild for her assistance in sorting through these items.

Fabric will be sold in bulk for $3 per pound (approximately $1.50 per yard). All other items will be priced at 80%–95% off retail value. Any materials remaining after the weekend will be donated to the Charlotte Quilters Guild outreach committee.

I have reserved Friday afternoon specifically for guild members and friends to shop and socialize with refreshments provided. The sale will open to the general public the following day.

Mark Your Calendars for July 17 & 18 for the Anderson Area Quilt Show in Anderson SC. We invite you to attend with a friend or a group to see over 200 quiltsby members of Prickly Fingers and Electric City Quilters Guilds! This show is also happening at the same time as the Carolina Shop Hop, so there will be lots to do!
