DOCF is excited to announce The Crown Collective, a free one‑week summer program designed to empower young girls ages 9–12 from Title I schools in the Charlotte area.

Throughout the week, participants will explore topics that help them grow in confidence, self‑awareness, and life skills — including self‑care, community engagement, cultural beauty and grooming essentials, culinary creativity, financial literacy, and more. All supplies will be provided to each participant at no cost. Transportation will not be provided.

What a remarkable impact a single day can have! This weekend, DOCF had the privilege of hosting esteemed Delta Sigma Theta Honorary Member Phyllis Newhouse and her family as they commemorated her mother's notable 95th birthday milestone. In honor of her enduring legacy founded on unwavering love, support, and the motivational philosophy of 'making the best better,' DOCF is delighted to announce the inaugural Mary F. Wi******er Scholarship in partnership with the ShoulderUp; a testament to her family's commitment to promoting excellence. This scholarship will provide support to high school senior girls within the CMS system who demonstrate academic excellence with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, empowering them to achieve greater heights. It didn’t stop there! Hervia Ingram, President of Xtreme Solotions, Incorporated personally donated an additional $5,000 to to the Wi******er Scholarship.
