What can 100 students start? Let’s go back to 1972!

About 100 pharmacy students gathered at Florida A&M University, bringing together students from Florida A&M, Howard University, Texas Southern University, and Xavier University to form what would become the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA).

SNPhA was created to develop student leaders, engage with critical healthcare issues, and serve minority communities.

54 years later, that work continues through the student pharmacists preparing to lead, serve, and shape the future of our profession.

What happens when a pharmacist takes their expertise beyond the pharmacy?

On World Pharmacists Day, we’re revisiting this important conversation from the 2026 NPhA/SNPhA Annual Convention. Dr. Rosalyn Cain King shares a part of her journey, from public health to working with USAID and eventually into global pharmacy.

Her story is a reminder of the many places pharmacy can make a difference, including global health 🌍💊

We were in Harlem! 📸

On August 13, we joined Black Health Matters for the Harlem Week Health Summit & Expo at The Riverside Church in New York.

Our very own Dr. Cara Milch spoke to an audience of over 500 attendees about our mission, the pharmacist’s role in healthcare, and advancing health equity. Throughout the day, Drs. Shawn-Ta Brown and Milch led the Ask the Pharmacist booth, connecting with local residents, engaging with partner organizations, and addressing common medication-related questions and concerns.

We are grateful to Black Health Matters for creating space for these conversations and for bringing pharmacy directly into the heart of the community.

Pharmacy leadership goes beyond the pharmacy walls.

At our 2026 Convention, Dr. Henry Lewis reminded us of the impact pharmacists can have in our communities and at all levels of government. These are the conversations we must keep having, and the rooms we must keep showing up in.

Maternal immunization is key to healthier pregnancies and families.

We are proud to support the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ (ACOG) 2026 Maternal Immunization Schedule, a trusted resource for clinicians, patients, and communities.
