Calling all art lovers 🗣️

Join on February 21 AND 22 for a guided tour of Rail Trail Lights 🥳 Visit the art created for Rail Trail Lights, connect with the community along the Rail Trail, and listen to .connelly talk about the inspiration behind Golden Threads. Here’s everything you need to know 👇

💡 The Art Walks are taking place on Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22 beginning at 5:45 PM
💡 The one-hour art walk will begin at Bland St. Station and ends at Atherton
💡 Gather at the Urban Design Center () at 5:45 PM to kickstart the tour
💡 Take the Light Rail to Bland St. Station to be closest to the tour’s starting point. There is limited free parking at Atherton, or find paid parking at the garages at , 1616 Camden, the Design Center, or the Square.
💡 The event is FREE, but please RSVP at the links in our LinkTree:

You're invited to help us Flip the Switch on Rail Trail Lights 2025 TONIGHT 🎉 Here's everything you need to know before kicking off the 17-day art walk:

💡 Meet at Atherton at 7 PM for live music and entertainment
💡 Rail Trail Lights: Golden Threads was created by .connelly and fabricated and installed by her team of subcontracted local artists
💡 Visit all nine installations on a self-guided tour of the where you can meet and mingle with the artists
💡 The event is free and family-friendly

In just ONE month, Rail Trail Lights 2025 returns to South End to light up the from February 7-23 💡

, , and Art By Meredith Connelly (.connelly) are excited to announce Golden Threads, an immersive art walk featuring nine installations that explore and celebrate the beauty of nature.

The following local artists were subcontracted to support the fabrication and installation of each art piece. Each artist received hands-on opportunities, training and mentorship throughout the process to help support their professional development:

DID YOU KNOW: I Heart Rail Trail initiative is a partnership between the Charlotte Rail Trail, Charlotte Center City Partners, and U.S. Bank. The program features events to activate the Rail Trail and enhance the experience of this 3.5-mile linear park.

This weekend is the second Rail Trail Clean Up of the fall season 🎉 Check out the details on how you can get involved 👇
 
WHERE: New Bern St. Light Rail Station
WHEN: Saturday, October 19 from 10 AM - 1 PM
WHAT: Gather at New Bern St. Station between 10-11 AM to gather your supplies, then stroll the Rail Trail collecting litter! Then, head to for a Volunteer Appreciation Party, featuring raffles, games, and more! PLUS, each volunteer will receive a free slice of pizza courtesy of and each volunteer over 21 will receive a free drink from 🍕🍻

🚧 DETOUR: A portion of the Rail Trail, between Tremont Avenue and Remount Road and in front of , will be closed temporarily for construction.

- Most of the trail will reopen Thursday.
- A small portion in front of Linea, the incoming apartment tower on Hawkins Street, will stay closed through the summer.
