Town Hall Coming Soon

Representative Terry Brown will be hosting his district Town Hall on September 26th. Since session has wrapped up, I will be discussing legislative updates and having a panel of experts discuss what matters most to District 92 constituents. We'll have representatives from NC Dept. of Transportation, Charlotte-Meck Police Department, and NC Budget & Tax Center, discussing Highway 160, district safety, and new possible tax laws.

Local Student-Athlete in Youth Athlete of the Year

Jasmyn Ashbourne is a rising senior at Palisades High School and is competing in Colossal’s Youth Athlete of the Year competition, a nationwide campaign that also raises funds and awareness for the Why Not You Foundation. She is currently in the Top 5 for her group and voting has started for group finals. Winners of this round will go on to the Quarter Finals.

Jasmyn, is not only representing her family, but her school, her community, and the city of Charlotte. If she wins, we all win; it's a team effort. We are asking for your support!

Discover Where a Career in Aviation Can Take You

On Sunday, September 20, from noon–4:30 p.m., Sullenberger Aviation Museum invites students to explore the many careers that keep aviation moving, from piloting and engineering to aircraft maintenance, flight operations, customer experience, technology, and leadership.

During the special Career Pathway Experience, students will rotate among aviation professionals to:

· Explore aviation careers and educational pathways

· Learn about training, certifications, and leadership skills

· Discover what a typical day on the job looks like

· Ask questions and make connections with industry professionals

Students can also take part in interactive learning stations featuring flight simulation, aircraft design and systems, safety, communications, technology, aviation history, and more.

Space is limited—register today!

Important Registration Information

Students ages 17 and younger must register in advance to participate in the Career Pathway Experience and must be accompanied by an adult.

Accompanying adults may purchase general museum admission online or at the museum on the day of the event.
