Our friends at the Troutman Ruritan Club and Ruritan Clubs throughout Iredell County are coming together for a project that can make a lasting difference for local children.

🍗 Pennies for the Playground is a Chicken Dinner Fundraiser benefiting Third Creek Elementary School and the effort to provide students with a new, safe and ADA-accessible playground.

For many of these children, recess at school is more than a break from the classroom. It may be one of the few opportunities they have to run, play and simply enjoy being a kid in a safe environment. Third Creek’s current playground is more than two decades old, with equipment that is outdated or no longer usable. These students deserve a space where children of ALL abilities can play, explore and belong. ❤️

🎄 Calling all Christmas vendors! 🎄

The Troutman Ruritan Club is preparing for a festive Christmas Market and Festival of Trees, and vendor applications are now open!

Local makers, small businesses and holiday vendors are invited to reserve a booth and showcase their Christmas-themed products during an afternoon filled with seasonal shopping and community cheer. Space is limited, so interested vendors are encouraged to secure their spot early!

💲 Vendor fee: $60

🦃 COMMUNITY EVENT SHARE: TROUTMAN GOBBLER RUN 5K 🦃

Before the turkey hits the table, lace up your running shoes and start Thanksgiving Day with the Troutman Ruritan Club’s first annual Troutman Gobbler Run 5K!

Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to gather at Troutman ESC Park on Thursday, November 26, for a fun and festive morning of movement, community and giving back. Participants are also encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations to help stock the community Blessing Box at Troutman Town Hall.

Proceeds from the race will support important local initiatives, including student scholarships, community service projects, family and elderly assistance, domestic violence support, school technology fees and Christmas gifts for children and women’s shelter residents.

📅 Thursday, November 26
⏰ Race begins at 8:00 a.m.
📍 Troutman ESC Park, 338 North Avenue
💲 Registration is $35, plus the online registration fee

Register by October 31 to be guaranteed a race shirt. Participants will also receive a finisher medal and a swag bag filled with treats and snacks. Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female runners, along with first-, second- and third-place finishers in each age category.

Put the turkey in the oven, gather the family and help kick off a brand-new Troutman Thanksgiving tradition—one step at a time! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Troutman Ruritan Festival of Trees and Christmas Market seeking sponsorships

The Troutman Ruritan Club is proud to announce its inaugural Christmas in Troutman: Festival of Trees and Holiday Market, a new holiday tradition that will bring the Iredell County community together while raising funds to make a lasting impact throughout Iredell County.

The festive event will take place on Saturday, November 14, at South Iredell High School from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.

This holiday celebration will feature beautifully decorated Christmas trees, sponsored by local businesses and organizations, for raffle, a silent auction, kids’ activities, Santa’s Workshop and photo opportunity, a curated Christmas Market, live entertainment, food trucks, and community fellowship.

Thirty Christmas trees will be raffled, each featuring a unique theme, including automotive, Snow Day, kitchen, game night, movie night, grilling, beach day, lottery, restaurants, new baby, Dewalt tools, outdoor activities, candy, sports, and snowmen.

Vendors who sell quality, unique Christmas-related gifts and decor are also being selected for the show. To apply for consideration, contact Cindy at [email protected].

Proceeds from this event will directly benefit scholarships for graduating seniors at South Iredell High School, the South Iredell High School Women's Basketball Program, students at Third Creek Middle School in Statesville, and Food for Days in Mooresville, providing weekend meals for children facing food insecurity.��
