Our hearts are full! πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’›

Reeshemah Hall-Norris,

We are grateful to Academy – Eastfield for inviting us to serve your scholars and families. It was our honor to provide literacy kits and book bags to all four MECK Pre-K classrooms and help place more books and learning tools into the hands of young readers.

Thank you for your partnership and for all you do to nurture the brilliance, curiosity, and potential of every child. Together, we are building a stronger foundation for lifelong literacy and learning.

Representation in children’s literature is not a luxury. It is a lifeline.
πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’›
When children see themselves reflected in the pages of a book, they begin to understand that their stories matter, their voices belong, and their brilliance deserves space in the world. Books become mirrors that affirm identity and windows that expand empathy.

For Black children especially, culturally responsive and inclusive literature helps nurture confidence, language, imagination, and a deep sense of belonging. It reminds our babies that they are more than statistics, stereotypes, or struggle narratives. They are inventors, dreamers, artists, leaders, healers, and Afro-Genius in motion.
πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’›
Every child deserves to turn a page and find joy.
πŸ’œ
Every child deserves stories that honor the fullness of who they are.
πŸ’™
Every child deserves to be seen.
πŸ–€
This Pride Month and every month, we celebrate books that create space for children to live authentically, love freely, and grow boldly. Because representation does not divide children, it helps save them from invisibility.

Something powerful happened when community gathered in the same room with a shared commitment to children and families. πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’›

We are still reflecting on the rich conversation, courageous voices, meaningful connections, and collective vision that emerged from our recent coalition meeting. Parents, educators, advocates, and community partners came together not just to talk about change but to organize for it.

Why?

Because every child’s brilliance deserves systems willing to see it, protect it, and nurture it. πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’›
