On November 1, the Arms Of Love Children’s Home in Andhra Pradesh, India celebrated its 21st anniversary. Pastor Solomon and I have worked together for 23 years, and began the children’s home together in 2002. One of my favorite things about my birthday is getting the photos of the anniversary/birthday celebration every year. Solomon deliberately chose November 1 to officially begin the home. In the first photo, on the left, you can see the widows that we support, and in the back right, you can see the evangelists that help Pastor Solomon to provide food, water, clothing, and shelter for widows, and the elderly poor in the community. The children are in the front! We have taken care of hundreds of children who had nowhere else to go over the last 21 years. They have been clothed, fed, housed, educated and loved. Normally the town of Vijayawada gathers to celebrate and eat. This year it was a small in-home affair, but the children still got to celebrate! 20 years ago this month I met Pastor Solomon Raj in Muttom, Tamil Nadu, India. Here I am pictured with Solomon and my father. I am grateful for Dad's work in India since 1986 and the opportunity I had to meet Solomon! We became friends under an awning during a storm where just the two of us rode it out for 20 minutes. During that time he was admiring my cameras while I was taking photos of the palm trees bending in the wind and rain. He commented he would love to have a photo of his 4 year old daughter one day. This immediately gripped my heart as I could not imagine such a thing! I had a small point a shoot camera, and I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to give it to him right then and there. I rewound the film that was in it, gave him the camera and a case with extra batteries and several new rolls of film. Right there during that storm I showed him how to use the camera and gave him my address so he and his family could keep in touch with me. This began our friendship and that turned into Jehovah Jireh Ministries, and by 2003 we started this outreach including the Arms of Love Home for children. Here we are in 2020 and we have helped hundreds of children, widows and the destitute in Vijayawada, A.P., India. So thankful for Solomon, our partnership, and for all of you who have supported us and prayed for us.

A nice update during COVID lockdown from Pastor Solomon and the children of Arms of Love Home in A.P., India:

Dear Sister Kristin,
Greetings in our Lord's precious name.
Thank you very much for your kind emails ,prayers and thoughts for us .As I said that we are praying to give a helping hand to poor and needy and struggling with covid-19.Thank you for your prayers as well. Before last Sunday we had given to few families a little help providing them 4 or 5 kgs of vegetables and they were benefited much.There are many with no water, rice and other provision. Poor pastors and evangelists also the same as they survive with small offerings and rice that they get on Sundays - but worship and prayers are not allowed and churches not permitted to open at all during COVID. Please join us in prayer and let us give whatever God provides us .Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the LORD delivers them in times of trouble. Psalm 41:1.

So grateful for the donors who made it possible for extra health checkups for our little ones. All of our Arms of Love children are healthy and finishing up their school year by mid-April for summer break. Please keep them in your prayers as the summers are so unbearably hot! Pray for their safety and good health. Amen!
