We have exciting news neighbors: the board has adopted a new color scheme for the entire neighborhood to make it look fresh, new, fabulous and improved. The neighborhood color scheme was chosen by Lisa Jenkins, a professional color consultant who choses colors for many communities including Ryan Homes. This will kick off Monday June 13, (weather permitting),with the painting of the monument signs up front, all the common area signs, stop signs, common area lamp posts and mailboxes. More to come, stay tuned!

UPDATE ON TREE DOWN AT CORNER OF WERBURGH AND CASTLEBERRY

Please avoid the intersection of Werburgh and Castleberry because one of the cypress trees in this part of the community has fallen. Please also avoid parking along the south end of Werburgh due to the chance other cypress trees could fall and damage parked vehicles.

The excessive rain from Hurricane Florence has oversaturated the ground and caused this tree to topple. No property damage or injuries have been reported. Terra Green has been notified of this issue and will remove the tree when possible. Please be patient as cleanup efforts with higher priority get underway tomorrow across Charlotte. Stay safe everyone during possible continued inclement weather!

PREPARE FOR HURRICANE FLORENCE!

- Bring inside all lightweight items such as wreaths that could become projectiles in high winds from your front porch, deck, and backyard.
- Close your patio umbrella and lay it flat on your deck.
- Bring inside or tie down lightweight patio furniture or other unsecured items on your deck.
- Clear storm drains near your townhome of any debris to help prevent localized flooding.
- Check that your gutter downspouts are not clogged.
- Charge your electronic devices and complete chores like running the dishwasher and doing laundry in case of long-term power loss.
- Have on hand enough cash to last for 7 days of your household expenditures. ATMs won’t work, banks won’t be open, and credit cards can’t be used if there is widespread power loss.
- Sign up now for Duke Energy power outage, status updates, and power restoration notifications sent to your smartphone by texting REG to 57801. Once registered, text OUT to report an outage or STATUS for an update on an existing outage.
- Sign up now for Hurricane Florence updates focused on Charlotte and your local area sent to your smartphone by texting CHARMECK to 888777.
- Download the ReadyNC app to your smartphone. It provides the most critical information needed to prepare for and recover from typical disasters that impact North Carolina.

Residents are encouraged to reply with further suggestions for the best ways the Magnolia Park community can prepare for Hurricane Florence. Stay safe everyone!
