This past Saturday, October 10 marked both World Homeless Day and World Mental Health Day—two observances deeply connected to the heart of our work at Project Outpour.

For our neighbors experiencing homelessness, the weight of each day can extend far beyond finding a safe place to sleep. The uncertainty of where you’ll shower, how you’ll stay clean, whether you’ll be treated with dignity, and what tomorrow will bring can take a toll on the mind, body, and spirit.

As we recognize both World Homeless Day and World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that caring for our neighbors means caring for the whole person.

Everyone deserves to be seen.
Everyone deserves to be cared for.
Everyone deserves dignity.

October 8th is your day to put donor-advised funds to work for the causes and communities you care about! If you have a donor-advised fund, you can recommend a grant to Project Outpour and help make dignity-centered services possible for our unhoused neighbors here in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Your DAF grant can help support the work we do every week in providing access to free mobile showers, hygiene services, clothing, and essential resources for neighbors who are navigating homelessness. This DAF Day, consider recommending Project Outpour as a recipient of your charitable giving.

Yesterday, Project Outpour had the honor of receiving a Do It Right Award at the Goodie Awards presented by SHARE Charlotte and we are deeply grateful for the recognition.

We don’t do this work for the recognition, but we’re incredibly thankful when the community recognizes the heart behind it. To everyone who continues to believe in the mission of Project Outpour: thank you for helping us do it right! Here’s to continuing to show up, serve with dignity, and pour into our neighbors. 💙
