As families across Charlotte prepare for a new school year, many students are simply hoping to have the basics—a clean school uniform, a pair of shoes that fit, socks, underwear, hygiene essentials, and school supplies.

That’s where the Charity League of Charlotte steps in.

For more than 100 years, our members have partnered with local Title I schools to help remove barriers to learning. Through our school resource hubs and dedicated volunteers, we provide essential items that help students walk through the school doors with confidence, dignity, and the opportunity to succeed.

Together, we’re not just preparing children for the first day of school—we’re helping prepare them for a brighter future.

Charity League of Charlotte is proud to announce the launch of our newest hub located within Bruns Elementary. 🧡

This space will serve as a welcoming and efficient area dedicated to supporting those in need. We were joined by seven volunteers, along with Charity League President Carolyn Pollack and Charity League member and Bruns School Lead Sarah Demaree, who worked tirelessly to unpack newly delivered uniforms and hygiene items, sort them by size, assemble new shelving, and organize and label the space. Their hard work has created an efficient, well-organized hub, ensuring the on-site social worker has quick access to essential care items whenever they are needed.

Thank you all for the time and energy you have put into this new hub! Without you, none of this would be possible.💛

In just 4 weeks, these spaces will be filled with students—each arriving with hopes, dreams, and the opportunity to learn.

At the Charity League of Charlotte, we believe every child deserves to walk through these doors feeling confident and ready to succeed. That’s why we provide uniforms, shoes, hygiene items, and essential support to students in Title I schools across Mecklenburg County.

Because when school begins, every child deserves the chance to thrive. 💙❤️

Our 2025-2026 Impact Report is here, and it's full of reasons to be proud of this community! 💛

This year, Charity League of Charlotte served over 5,000 students across 8 partner schools — powered entirely by volunteers who gave 1,200+ hours of their time. Because we have no paid staff, every single donation goes directly to the kids and teachers who need it most: uniforms, critical care supplies, classroom resources, and teacher appreciation.

98% of the children in our partner schools live at or below the poverty level. The support we provide isn't just supplies — it's showing up for them, year after year.

Bruns Elementary School is the newest addition to the Charity League of Charlotte family.

This summer, with the help of our friends at Ally Bank, we will be building a Uniform Hub to provide uniforms and critical items for students in need.

Our goal is simple: to ensure every child is dressed for success, feels good about themselves, and walks into the classroom each day ready to learn with confidence.

Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness leave the biggest impact. 💙💛

One of our favorite parts of serving our Title I schools isn't just delivering supplies, uniforms, meals, or special treats; it's hearing directly from the incredible teachers and staff who pour so much into their students every day.

These handwritten notes remind us why we do what we do. Their words of gratitude are a powerful reminder that every donation, every volunteer hour, and every act of generosity helps make a difference in our community.
