What a weekend for the Crash!
This past weekend at the United States Wheelchair Rugby Association Nationals was filled with excitement. Our hearts are full!
30 Years of Heart: Coach Mike Duda
Congratulations on COACH OF THE YEAR!
If you know the Carolina Crash, you know Mike Duda. For 30 years, Mike has been more than just a volunteer coach; he’s been a mentor, a mechanic, and a friend.
Mike doesn't just show up for the game; he shows up for the players. Whether it’s fixing a chair late at night after practice or being a listening ear off the court, he always goes the extra mile. And he doesn't do it alone—the Duda family is the definition of "all in," with his wife and son both serving as referees. Mike, thank you for the missed weekends at home and the thousands of hours you’ve poured into this team.
The Carolina Crash Quad Rugby showed out for you this weekend: Fighting from a 6th-place seed to finishing 5th in their division - becoming the only team in the division to take down the 2nd-place finishers aside from the division champions! Mike, this recognition is so deeply deserved. Thank you for your years of service!
From Our Court to the National Stage: McKenna Woodhead
Our hearts swelled with pride seeing McKenna Woodhead take home the Developing Player of the Year award! McKenna, we remember your "big start" right here with the Crash. Watching you grow from a local standout to a national force—all while pursuing your dreams in Michigan—has been a joy. You are a fierce competitor!
To Our ASAP & Crash Family
To the players who left it all on the court and the families who cheered from the stands: THANK YOU. This program is a family because of people like Mike and McKenna.
Special shout out to our support staff this season, Trey Witte, Rhett Roberts, and the Roberts Family for all of their hard work live streaming all of our games and uploading them!
Congratulations to everyone who made this weekend possible. Let’s keep pushing, keep crashing, and keep winning.
