The HANDS Center for Autism has officially opened its 5th location, now offering ABA services for children in the Charlotte community. This expansion brings valuable, family-centered support to local families and strengthens the network of care in our region.

We’re especially grateful for Gaile Valcho's ongoing engagement in our collaborative, her partnership continues to make a meaningful impact.

Meck SOC Coordinator Rebekah Collins had the opportunity to attend the grand opening last week and experience the beautiful new space firsthand, be sure to check out the photos!

The System of Care of Mecklenburg County recently hosted a community mural event that centered youth and family voices in the conversation around mental health and stigma reduction. 💙🎨
In partnership with the Arts Empowerment Project, a local muralist led a hands-on workshop where youth and families learned about mural design and worked together to create and paint an original piece at a local community center. Participants were invited to share their stories through art, creating a strength-based message that reflects their lived experiences and resilience.
The event also featured a brief panel discussion during the mural’s reveal, continuing important conversations about mental health awareness, community connection, and support.
This project highlighted the power of creativity, collaboration, and community in building understanding and reducing stigma.
