Dedicated to the Ballantyne community since 1999, the Morrison YMCA serves over 15,000 people each year. Families are strengthened through high-quality youth sports, preschool, afterschool, camp, and arts programs, while gym-goers enjoy state of the art facilities, group exercises and CrossFit.

For more than 150 years, the YMCA of Greater Charlotte has evolved to meet the changing needs of our community. Today, we're taking an important step toward our future.

We announced a long-term reinvestment strategy designed to strengthen our facilities, expand program capacity and create more opportunities for connection, health and well-being across the Charlotte region.

This includes entering into a Purchase and Sale Agreement for the Morrison YMCA property. While change can be difficult, this opportunity allows us to accelerate investments that will help position the YMCA to serve future generations.

The Morrison YMCA will remain open and fully operational through the anticipated closing in summer 2027, and we remain committed to supporting our members, staff and community every step of the way.

Camp Thunderbird Day Camp is just a bus ride away from Harris YMCA.

If you're still looking for the right camp for your child—or their preferred camp week is full—there's still time to give them an incredible summer filled with outdoor adventures, lake days, and new friendships.
