🕷️❤️🖤 FIRST TOURNAMENT. FIRST STATEMENT. 🖤❤️🕷️
The Coul Oak Black Widows 12u made their tournament debut in Cornelius this weekend, and WOW… what a way to start! 🔥
🥉 3rd Place — Gold Bracket
🏆 3rd out of 12 teams
💥 31 runs scored in just 2 games + 1 inning
🔥 .516 team batting average - with Alivia Brown #5 batting 1.000 for the day!
👀 7 walks — these girls were PATIENT at the plate!
⚡ 3 pitchers combining for less than 120 pitches, with multiple strikeouts along the way!
And then came Mother Nature. 🌧️
We were rolling into the semi-final game with a 4-0 lead and the momentum firmly on our side when weather forced the tournament to be canceled. With the tournament unable to continue, the final standings were determined based on where teams stood when play began.
So, we’ll proudly take that 3rd-place Gold Bracket finish — but Coach Horbs x2 are pretty confident these girls had a LOT more left to give. 😉
This was the first tournament ever for a team that had never played together before, and the way these new Widows came together was something special.
We couldn’t be more proud of what they produced this weekend. ❤️🖤
The chemistry is building.
The confidence is growing.
And if this is what they can do in Tournament #1…
we can’t wait to see what happens next! 🕷️🔥
Watch out for the Widows! We bite!
📅 Stay tuned for our next tournament schedule — Saturday, 9/19!
Shout out to team mom: Courtnie Mackey for taking photos and videos of all our girls! Especially for the Horbs crew who is on the field with the girls and can’t pull out their phones when their own is playing!
