As America approaches its 250th birthday, we're launching our 250 for 250 Challenge.

Our goal is simple: 250 (or more) people giving $250 (or more) by July 4.

Why? Because history matters. And museums do not preserve themselves. They survive because people decide that supporting this work is important.

Charlotte Museum of History is where Charlotte's history has a home. Every day, we care for historic buildings, preserve collections, create exhibitions, welcome school groups, and share the stories that help our community understand where we've been and where we're going.

Wondering what $250 can do?

✨ Provide admission for a classroom students

✨ Help preserve historic artifacts and documents

✨ Support hands-on educational programming

✨ Assist with the care and maintenance of our 250-year-old historic home-- the oldest in Mecklenburg County

✨ Ensure Charlotte's stories remain accessible for future generations

And if you haven't experienced 'American Revolution: The Augmented Experience' yet, now is the perfect time. It's one of the most innovative history exhibitions in the country, and it's right here in Charlotte, the only place you'll get to see it int he Southeast!

Will you be one of our 250? Head to our webpage and donate now!
