This October, for National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we're celebrating our friend Brad Tepper and a couple of big milestones in his life.

Brad recently graduated from UNC Charlotte with a master's degree in accounting, and at the end of August, he started his career as a tax associate with PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers).

Looking ahead, Brad wants to stay independent for as long as possible and build a long, successful career, and we're proud to celebrate his determination to pursue that future.

Congratulations, Brad. Your Friends Foundation family could not be more proud of you, and we can't wait to see where this next chapter takes you.

As we close out Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month, we’re celebrating something that defines our community every day: strength. 💙

Strength can look different for everyone. It can be a parent navigating an insurance appeal, an adult showing up to an event on a hard day, a sibling becoming an advocate, or a volunteer giving up a Saturday to lend a helping hand.

Sometimes strength is simply taking the next step—and knowing you don’t have to take it alone.

That’s why we started Friends Foundation of the Carolinas: to build a community where families feel supported, connected, and empowered to keep moving forward together.

💙 Since 2023, Friends Foundation of the Carolinas has been making a difference for local families.

19 events. 3,000+ attendees. $1.03M+ in accessibility grants.

That includes 20 wheelchair-accessible vans and $33,000+ toward stair lifts, ramps, and other mobility needs.

For families living with neuromuscular disease, accessibility means more freedom, more independence, and more opportunities to simply show up for life. ♿️💙

As families begin preparing for the Victory Junction registration and application process, now is a great time to start gathering important information and documents that may be needed along the way.

A magical afternoon is coming on July 19! Join Friends Foundation of the Carolinas for a fun afternoon featuring nationally recognized magician Brian Saint at Lenny Boy Brewing.

Known for his television appearances and unforgettable live performances, Brian Saint brings an interactive experience full of surprises, laughter, and incredible moments, all while supporting local families living with neuromuscular diseases.
