Safe and reliable transportation can make a life-changing difference for families living with neuromuscular diseases. Through our accessibility grant program, Friends Foundation of the Carolinas has helped provide approximately 20 wheelchair-accessible van grants in just three years.

These grants help families travel more safely, confidently, and comfortably, whether it’s getting to medical appointments, school activities, family events, or everyday outings.

We are grateful to every donor and supporter who helps make these resources possible for local families across our community.

“Thank you so much! We are so blessed to be a part of Friends Foundation! Our kids have made such good friends, and it is so nice to normalize seeing multitudes of wheels rolling around! Chris and I appreciate being able to talk with others and see what our journey may look like as Bailey grows. The “I’ve been there” is better than just about anything we could be gifted.”
- The Toney Family

This story reflects the strength of our families and the power of community support. Together, we are expanding access, opportunity, and connection for people living with neuromuscular disease.
