Safe and reliable transportation can make a life-changing difference for families living with neuromuscular diseases. Through our accessibility grant program, Friends Foundation of the Carolinas has helped provide approximately 20 wheelchair-accessible van grants in just three years.

These grants help families travel more safely, confidently, and comfortably, whether it’s getting to medical appointments, school activities, family events, or everyday outings.

We are grateful to every donor and supporter who helps make these resources possible for local families across our community.

“Thank you so much! We are so blessed to be a part of Friends Foundation! Our kids have made such good friends, and it is so nice to normalize seeing multitudes of wheels rolling around! Chris and I appreciate being able to talk with others and see what our journey may look like as Bailey grows. The “I’ve been there” is better than just about anything we could be gifted.”

Thank you to our donors, volunteers, and board members who give their time, resources, and leadership to make family experiences, grants, and vital programs possible across our 13 counties. “It has been an amazing experience being part of Friends Foundation. Being able to connect with other families facing the same challenges as us has been a game changer. The events have been wonderful and fun. We absolutely love it. We are so thankful for Lisa, Todd, and the whole entire Friends Foundation group. Our van broke down last summer and we received a grant for a new van and it has made life so much easier and taken a lot of our worry away. Mike and Bobby at Ilderton made the process so easy and were very attentive to what we needed.” -The Blanks Family

Support from our community helps families like the Blanks access vital resources while staying connected to one another. We are grateful to walk alongside the families we serve every step of the way.
