The 2026 Leadership Academy, the Young Professional’s Network (YPN), and Canopy staff recently combined efforts for Canopy’s third, and final, quarterly clean-up of the Sugar Creek Waterway for 2026!

On Tuesday, September 22, this group of dedicated stewards braved extensive brush to clean up the banks and adjacent areas along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway located inside the Pearl Street Park.

The Canopy Housing Foundation has adopted the greenway, right across from Canopy’s headquarters, to help keep it clean for people who use the neighboring park and for wildlife who call this precious habitat home.

The 3rd quarter cleanup resulted in a collection of 70 pounds of trash – with the Foundation continuing the program in 2027.

That is why our $35 or More Will Help Restore campaign helps RESTORE hope for children entering foster care, RESTORE dignity for neighbors with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and RESTORE stability for families facing a housing crisis.

This month, we shared how Foster Village Charlotte, The ARC of Haywood County, and Caterpillar Ministries are meeting those needs. If you missed a story, you can read all three in one place. Our $35 or More campaign ends Sept. 30. Please consider making a gift to help carry this work forward.
