Looking for DSP's in the Charlotte Metro area.
A Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a healthcare and human services worker who provides direct assistance to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to help them live more independently and integrate into their communities. Their duties involve teaching new skills, providing support, and helping clients access resources to enhance their well-being and safety. While no college degree is required, most positions necessitate a high school diploma and some employers provide specialized training and certification programs.
# # # **Requirements:**
✔ **Must Have:**
- **CPR/First Aid Certification**
- **Bloodborne Pathogens Training**
- **Seizure Management Training**
- **Medication Administration Certification (if applicable)**
- **Experience with IDD & TBI adults**
- Clean background check & reliable transportation
✔ **Preferred:**
- NCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) training
- CNA or related healthcare experience
- Knowledge of NC Medicaid/Innovations Waiver
