📚 We’re Looking for On-Call Substitute Teachers!

The St. Sophia School is building our substitute teacher pool for the 2026–2027 school year. We are seeking dependable, caring individuals who enjoy working with children and can help provide a positive, structured classroom environment when a teacher is absent.

Substitutes may be called for full-day or partial-day assignments in our TK–6th grade classrooms. Teaching experience is helpful but not required; experience working with children through schools, childcare, tutoring, camps, homeschooling, or church programs is also valuable.

Ideal candidates will:

• Enjoy working with children
• Be dependable, flexible, and professional
• Be comfortable following prepared lesson plans
• Support and respect our Greek Orthodox Christian mission
• Be willing to complete a background check

We're excited to introduce another wonderful addition to The St. Sophia School family—our new TK Teacher, Ms. Shannon! 💙

With over 15 years of experience in education, Shannon has taught in Montessori preschool, Christian elementary classrooms, and Special Education. Her diverse background has shaped her belief that every child learns differently, and she is passionate about helping each student discover their own unique path to learning.

Shannon sees herself not just as a teacher, but as a guide who creates a supportive, engaging classroom where students can build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning from the very beginning.

Outside the classroom, Shannon is a proud mom of three and enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening, reading, sewing, baking, and caring for her two dogs.

We're excited to introduce another wonderful addition to The St. Sophia School family—our new 2nd–4th Grade Multi-Age Teacher, Mrs. Dawn Hasiotis! 💙

Dawn brings an incredible 28 years of teaching experience in grades 3–8 across Arizona, New York, Florida, and South Carolina. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education, a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a post-graduate degree in Educational Leadership.

Dawn is passionate about creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences where students are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and discover. Through songs, games, art, movement, and interactive lessons, she strives to make learning meaningful and exciting for every child.

Outside the classroom, Dawn enjoys all things athletic, artistic, and creative. She lives in Clover, SC with her husband and is beyond thrilled to be part of the St. Sophia community.

🌟 Our School is Growing... and So is Our Staff! 🌟

As The St. Sophia School continues to grow, we're excited to welcome several wonderful new teachers to our school family! Over the next few weeks, we'll be introducing each of them and sharing a little about the incredible educators joining our team.

💙 First up is our new 1st Grade Teacher, Mrs. Renee Andrews! 💙

Renee was born and raised in Charlotte and brings over 18 years of elementary teaching experience to St. Sophia. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from UNC Charlotte and is an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where she has also served as a Sunday School teacher.

Renee is passionate about helping children grow academically, spiritually, and socially. She strives to create a classroom where every student feels safe, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

When she's not teaching, Renee enjoys working out, playing pickleball, reading, shopping, and spending time with her family.

And just like that… school’s out for summer! ☀️

What a year it has been—new friendships, exciting learning, lots of laughter, and so much growth. We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful for the families, teachers, and supporters who make The St. Sophia School such a joyful place to learn.

Now it’s time for summer adventures, good books, and a little well-earned rest!

🏃‍♀️🎉 Our students wrapped up the school year with an amazing Fun Run and Field Day!

They ran, cheered, competed, and worked hard to raise money in support of The St. Sophia School. Their goal was to raise $10,000, and thanks to the generosity of our families and community, we have raised $7,968 so far!

We're so close to the finish line and would love your help reaching our goal.

🎓 Congratulations to our Kindergarten Graduates! 🎓

Yesterday we celebrated a wonderful group of students who have worked hard, grown tremendously, and are ready for their next adventure in Lower Elementary!

We are so proud of all they have accomplished this year and look forward to watching them continue to learn, grow, and shine. Thank you to our families and teachers for helping make this milestone so special.

Congratulations, Kindergarten Class of 2026! We can't wait to see all that you will achieve.
