This October, we’re heading to Buffalo Trace Distillery to Grain, hosted by Jonathan Katz-Moses and Jason Hibbs , and we need YOUR help to make it unforgettable.

The woodworking community always shows up in the best way: by giving back to the very craft that brings us together and we hope you’ll join us on this worthy cause! Calling all Central PA woodworkers: we need your muscle and your know how! 🪚

One of our Mighty Oak grant recipients in Newville, PA is getting a brand new Laguna Tools bandsaw, and we need 3 to 5 strong volunteers to help make delivery day happen.

Our recipient is thrilled to put this tool to work in his shop, but his physical limitations mean he can’t safely manage the delivery, moving, and setup on his own. That’s where you come in.

What we need:
💪🏽3 to 5 volunteers who are strong and comfortable moving heavy shop equipment
🔧 Familiarity with full size bandsaws (bonus points if you can help with calibration and setup for carpentry use)
📅 Flexibility, since freight timelines mean delivery could happen as early as a week
📍 Location: Newville, PA (or willing to travel to the area)
Got a friend who’s just as strong and just as handy? Bring them along! The more capable hands, the better.

Grain to Grain is coming to Buffalo Trace Distillery October 2-3, and it’s built around one simple idea: every seat helps to fund our grants to incredibly deserving woodworkers with disabilities!

Co-hosted by Jonathan Katz-Moses (Jonathan Katz-Moses) and Jason Hibbs (Jason Hibbs ), this weekend brings together a private distillery tour, a charity dinner, and a live auction, all benefiting the Katz-Moses Woodworkers with Disabilities Fund. Every ticket and every winning bid goes straight toward putting real tools and adaptive equipment into the hands of makers with disabilities.
Capped at just 100 seats to keep things casual - this is going to be a blast!

🚨Registration is now open for another woodworking workshop for students with visual impairments, led by experienced woodworker and teacher Leigh Northrup.

Each student works one-on-one with a trained mentor while learning woodworking hand tools and how to use a power carver provided by Kutzall and the Katz-Moses Woodworkers With Disabilities Fund. Students will carve animal footprints, build practical skills, and gain confidence in a structured, calm and supportive setting.

Every participant will leave with their own power carver, accessories, a workshop t-shirt, and personal protective equipment so they can continue woodworking responsibly at home.

All students under 18 are welcome. Two classes are available and the event is completely free.
